The Mechanical Systole Hypothesis - Synopsis

Police Constable Alison Holland is disillusioned both with her job and her lonely personal life. The last thing she wants is to be forced into a blind date by her friend. The date, with heart consultant Jonathan Adam, who she described as the most boring man she had ever met, was not going well, but her interest is perked when he mentions three names she recognises, all dead, all suffered heart attacks, all connected if only she could remember how. In an attempt to prove a point to both herself and her superiors she investigates the tenuous link she knows exists between the victims, a link that no one takes seriously except for ‘boring’ Jonathan. On the verge of forgetting the whole matter she discovers surveillance equipment in her house. She is being watched, but by whom? What has she stumbled upon? With her only ally in Jonathan, she soon finds that a harmless chat over dinner on a dull blind date has led to a fight for her survival.
