Part Five - Discovery House - “After 4....1, 2, 3, 4”

Continued...

“Where are we?” asked Sam. “What are those people doing?” Sam and Chalk looked at the large crowd of people,“Unfair” you can hear them cry, “Unfair”.

Sam coughed, “I know this is our first proper date, I know you quite well, and I like to think you know me well enough to know I wouldn’t try anything funny, and I know you’d like to think I’d know that you’d know that I wouldn’t try anything funny.”

“Eh?”

“No please let me finish.” Sam coughed again and stuttered, his palms were sweating, this was the hard part. “Ever since I met you I’ve just wanted to kiss you, to hold you. I want to be with you every single minute of the day.”

“You what?”

“Please,” Sam never took his eyes off the screen, this is it, time to bring the ship in. “Lisa, I love you, I miss you when you are not there. I am jealous of other people talking to you, and when we first spoke I knew we’d always be together, Oh Lisa,” Sam leaned over the seat.

“Wait a minute.”

“Sssshhhhhh,” whispered Sam.

Sam placed his lips on hers, they were warm and soft. He moved his head around slightly. Placing his hands on her thigh he caressed her leg as he opened his mouth, this was a deep kiss, it was beautiful, Lisa’s arm went around Sam’s back as Sam stuck his tongue into Lisa’s mouth. They stayed in that position for two minutes their tongues flicking together like two excited fish. The kiss was so intense Sam felt himself getting hard, he shifted in his seat to try and adjust its position to give it more room to grow. The credits had rolled and the film started but Sam didn’t care, he groaned with pleasure as he moved his hand up her leg and rubbed her crotch. He rubbed her firm crotch, FIRM CROTCH? He thought, but he was being distracted by the sensation of her two-day facial stubble scratching at his face whilst their lips were entwined. Sam froze, was it true? He pulled away from the lover’s embrace. “Hi, my name is Gary. What’s yours?”

“Sam fell back in his chair, his eyes fixed on the images on the screen, unable to move, his mind now full of hundreds of sick thoughts, he didn’t hear Lisa call his name as she entered the theatre and approach him. “Excuse me sir but this is my boyfriend, you are in my seat.” “Sorry miss,” the man stood up and moved along the row, “Your boyfriend is a passionate man, aren’t you the lucky one.” Lisa sat down, “What did he want? sorry I’m late, I was chatting to my friend Jackie. Have I missed anything?” Sam was now on the point of vomiting. In a monotone voice and without taking his eyes off the screen he said “No, you have missed nothing.”

It was a big hug, a huge hug, a hug that would squeeze all the bad things out of you. The credits had finished rolling and the rush to the door had died down. Sam and Lisa made their way to the exit.

“The film was lovely, so relaxing, thank you for taking me,” she said hugging him again. “I didn’t think I would enjoy it but it was wonderful, the costumes and the handsome men.”

Lisa looked at Sam for his reaction to her last statement but he didn’t seem to be listening, he just stared at nothing as if he was in a permanent daydream.

“Sam, are you alright, you have hardly said a word, are you ill? Is it that pizza disagreeing with you?”

Lisa couldn’t understand it, he was happy to be with her before they watched the film but now he seems distant. People poured out of the cinema, all trying to visit the lavatories or head for the exit. Progress was slow but they made it to the cool night air, a shiver ran down Lisa’s spine and she linked Sam’s arm for warmth. Sam just walked forward, still staring into nothing, his eyes fixed on something in his mind.

“Is it me?” she pleaded, “Have I done something wrong? Please tell me, if it is me I want to know. Why are you acting like this?” Lisa was worried, she had never seen Sam like this and it was starting to unsettle her.
